“The Australia Awards Scholarship is giving me the opportunity to have a great development both in my professional and personal life. It’s allowed me to access an excellence education, with teachers and classmates from all continents that inspire me to try hard and excel.

Personally, I’ve gained trust in myself, in my capabilities, in what I could achieve and in discovering new challenges and paths. I’ve also opened my mind to learn from other cultures, improve my knowledge about idiosyncrasy and the ways in which the different cultures that I’m interacting with live.

When I return to Argentina I want to apply for a diplomatic career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This experience in Australia will help me to greatly improve my understanding of the politic and economic world agendas. I’ll also be able to compare Argentina’s position, how it’s perceived, and how its foreign policy can be improved in order to diversify international relationships and Argentina’s position worldwide.

Studying in Australia has also presented challenges: most significantly coming here on my own, starting a new life, making friends, nostalgia and missing my family and friends. But these feelings are compensated by the gratifying moments that enjoying life in Australia brings. Australians are very open, warm and respectful, both towards institutions and cultural differences and people. There’s a lot of social harmony, lots of things that we can learn and apply in our countries when we return.

I want to give the future candidates of the Australia Awards Scholarship the following message: apply for the scholarships; you will learn tons during the process, as you have to think a lot about your past and where you want to head to, your professional future and the contributions we can make to our countries.”
