START YOUR APPLICATION ONLINE

Applying online using the OASIS system is the recommended method, as it facilitates the application process. Applicants can save the information they upload while completing the application process [DRAFT status]. It can be sent [SUBMIT] anytime within the indicated application period.

To start your application online, click the orange button. This button will take you to the OASIS website:

Note: Remember that the application period closes on 30 April, 2013, at 23:59 Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).

Please make sure you have completed your online application correctly with all the necessary information before you send it.

AusAID advises applicants submitting online to do so well before the closing date. The online application system (OASIS) experiences peak usage in the days leading to the application period, which may cause delays that could make the process difficult.

If you need help using the OASIS system, you can download the user guide here:

Tips for your application:
While preparing your application it is important to have in mind that the following sections of the Australia Awards Scholarships Policy Handbook do not apply to applicants of Latin America: sections 2.3.2.i, 2.3.8, 2.5.4 to 2.5.7, 2.7.3 to 2.7.4, and 2.7.7 to 2.7.9. Instead of those sections you have to follow the guidelines of the Latin American Country Profile.
It is important to write down your ADS application number and code so you can have access to your ONLINE application.
Remember that you can access the OASIS system as many times as you like and amend your application before sending it.
Before sending your final application online, copy it to a Word document in your computer so you can have access to it in the future and remember your course and university selection.
While you complete your application in OASIS do not use accents; the system works in English so it does not recognize accentuated letters. This applies for your names and surnames as well.
In Section #8 ‘Proposed Study’ of the OASIS application form you fill in your programs of preference to study in Australia. OASIS allows you to include as many program preferences as you like, but remember that in order to apply in Latin America you are obliged to choose two preferences.
Applications with only one preference will not be accepted.
Section #10 of the OASIS application form 'English Language proficiency" asks if you have already presented the IELTS or TOEFL test, and if you have not, to indicate when you will do so.

Note: It is compulsory for Latin American candidates to have presented the IELTS or TOEFL test at the time of application. Therefore you must not complete the section where you are asked for the date when you will take the exam (since you will have already attached your results).
Section #15 of the OASIS application form 'Supporting statement', subsection 6, asks you to indicate what priority sectors are more closely related to your application, and allows you to choose from a range of 14 sectors. Although some of the options are different from the five priority areas of the AusAID Australia Awards for Latin America, you must choose the sector more relevant to your application.
Pay attention to the word limit of each section. We recommend you answer the questions on a Word document and then paste it on the OASIS application form. (If you have exceeded the word limit you will notice because only the amount of words that fit in the box will be pasted). Additionally, if you use Word to prepare your answers, you will make sure you do not lose your work if the system closes because of an inactivity period of 30 minutes or a technical difficulty.
In your application, when you select the CRICOS code for the course of your choice, make sure the code has 7 numbers and letters. There is another type of code that has 6 characters, and is used to indicate the institution, not the course (it is not necessary for you to indicate this).
After you have submitted your application [status SUBMITTED], and if the application period is still open, you are still able to log in to OASIS to recover your application and change it back to DRAFT status. You will then be able to modify your application or add more documents in case you need to. The instructions on how to do this are in the Oasis Application User Guide (which you can download from the link above).
Important: Do not wait until the last days to send your application; the system could be overcrowded and your application may not be sent adequately or on time.
