Fellowship applications will be assessed and approved on a competitive basis. The Australian Government retains discretion to identify and support priority activities in light of evolving Whole of Government (WoG) priorities. Selection Committee decisions are final, and no communication regarding the deliberations will be entered into.
Submission of Applications
In preparing the Application Form, Australian organizations should refer to the Fellowships Guidelines for Submissions. A range of tools are also available on the Australian Government website to assist Australian organisations.
Australian organisations are invited to submit the following:
· An application detailing the proposed activities under the AAF Program, using the AA Fellowships Application Form. Proposals relating to broad priority areas are encouraged, but not required.
Fellowships application form
A detailed budget using the Budget Template available on the AA Fellowship website.
Fellows must already be nominated at the time of application. Applications which do not identify Fellows will be deemed ineligible. The application should include a suitable number of Reserve Fellows to allow for replacements in the event original nominees are no longer able to participate. After the Fellowship has been announced, only nominees included on the approved reserve list will be allowed to replace Fellows who do not take up the award.
Funding rounds are highly competitive and the quality of Fellows is an important selection criterion. It is important that candidates are people with good potential for implementing new knowledge, skills, and who are capable of effecting positive change in their home country.
Each overseas counterpart organisation must provide a Letter of Support for the proposed Fellowships Program and for the nominated Fellows and Reserve Fellows.
