Máximo Pacheco is the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Chile. Graduating from the University of Chile with majors in commercial engineering and economics.

Mr Pacheco has wide ranging experience in the private sector. Before assuming the position of Minister of Energy in March 2014, Mr Pacheco held a variety of senior executive positions at International Paper, including that of Senior Vice-President as well as representative for Latin America, Director in Brazil and President of the regional unit for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia. Prior to that, Mr Pacheco held senior executive positives at Carter Holt Harvey, the Chilean Copper Corporation (Codelco), Leasing Andino and Banco Osorno.
