In 2013 Ben was appointed General Manager, International Development for Origin Energy, Australia's leading integrated energy company. Ben has overall responsibility for growing Origin’s energy businesses outside of Australia and New Zealand. Ben joined Origin Energy as Chief Risk Officer in October 2011, a role responsible for the enterprise risk management systems across the business.

Ben has over 16 years of experience in the energy and utilities sectors across a number of geographical jurisdictions primarily in mergers and acquisitions and business development. Ben has either led or been involved in a number of public and private acquisitions, divestments, complex joint ventures and the development of new business opportunities in the energy sector.

Prior to joining Origin, Ben was a founding partner of Minerva Advisory Partners, a boutique advisory and consultancy business. Previously Ben held senior roles in the infrastructure division of an Australian investment firm as well as roles at Origin Energy and Centrica plc.

Ben holds Bachelor degrees in Laws and Commerce from the University of Auckland, New Zealand and is a Chartered Accountant and Barrister and Solicitor. Ben is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
