Rebolledo is a highly-experienced economist and trade official. Prior to his appointment as Vice Minister for Trade, he was based in the United States as a consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank on trade and integration issues. Before this, he served as Chilean Ambassador to Uruguay from 2009-10 and as Director for Bilateral Economic Relations in Direcon from 2005-8.

Earlier in his Direcon career, Rebolledo was head of the Department of Latin America and Integration, where he led the preparation, negotiation and administration of free trade agreements between Chile and Latin American countries.
