Jorge Marshall holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Chile and a PhD in Economy from Harvard University, US.

He was Minister of Economy between 1992 and 1993 during President Patricio Aylwin’s administration. He then became Vice President of the Central Bank between 1993 and 2003, and was Vice President of Banco del Estado from 2004 until 2008.

He is an expert in the field of public policy, where he has assumed different roles in academic organizations. He has also provided international advisory services, published articles in journals, and has worked as a university professor.

He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Maritime and Ports Chamber.

He is also a columnist for the Economy and Business section of El Mercurio.
