Aurora Williams is the Minister for Mining of the Republic of Chile. Ms Williams holds a BA in business administration for Universidad Católica de Chile and an MBA from Lleida University in Spain.

Ms Williams has 26 years of experience in business and has held managerial positions in several companies in northern Chile, including in her native Antofagasta. Her main roles included resource administration, planning and mergers and acquisitions.

During President Bachelet’s first term in office (2006-10) Ms Williams served as Regional Ministerial Delegate for Public Works in Antofagasta. Prior to her appointment as Minister for Mining, Ms Williams was Manager, Administration and Finance at the port facility, Antofagasta International Terminal, which manages 60 per cent of private mining consignments from the Antofagasta Region.
